Lyles, the 2017 U.S. indoor champion and World Indoor Record-holder at 300 meters, last Saturday won his Diamond League debut in 19.90 seconds, crushing the field in a huge personal best. The 2016 World Under-20 Champion, Lyles last summer came within 9/100ths of a second of making the U.S. Olympic Team when he ran 20.09 to break the 31-year-old U.S. high school record.

Four more Olympic gold medalists—Sally Pearson, Jenn Suhr, Yohan Blake and Natasha Hastings—along with 2015 IAAF World Champion Danielle Williams, have also joined the lineup.

These six athletes will be among the world’s best competing in the heart of Boston on Sunday, June 4, on a 200-meter track to be erected on Charles Street between the Public Garden and Boston Common. Sprints, hurdles, long jump and pole vault will be featured. Finish-line VIP seats are available for $75, which include food, beverage and a $50 adidas gift card, with a limited number of additional finish-line seats at $25. Tickets are on sale at www.adidasboostboston.com, with free standing room on a first-come, first-served basis.

The latest stars join previously announced Olympic gold medalists Wayde van Niekerk of South Africa, Americans Jeff Henderson and Tori Bowie, and Shaunae Miller-Uibo of the Bahamas—who at Saturday’s Diamond League meet in Shanghai won the 400 meters in 49.77 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year.

• Sally Pearson of Australia, the 2012 Olympic champion and 2011 IAAF World Champion in the 100-meter hurdles, has returned to competition after shattering her wrist when she crashed over a hurdle during a Diamond League meeting on June 4, 2015—two years to the day before she competes in Boston—and then struggling with Achilles and hamstring injuries. Last month, she ran her fastest time in four years in winning her eighth national title. 

• Jenn Suhr, the 2012 Olympic champion and 2016 World Indoor Champion in the pole vault, is also the World Indoor Record-holder (16 feet, 6 inches). Suhr’s career was launched in Boston in 2005, when she won her first U.S. title.

• Yohan Blake of Jamaica, a two-time Olympic champion in the 4x100-meter relay (2012, 2016) is also the 2011 IAAF World Champion at 100 meters. 

• Natasha Hastings, a two-time Olympic champion in the 4x400 meters for Team USA (2008, 2016), is also a seven-time IAAF World Champion in the relay and the 2012 IAAF World Indoor Championships bronze medalist at 400 meters.

• Danielle Williams of Jamaica became the 2015 IAAF World Champion in the 100-meter hurdles just six weeks after winning the World University Games.  

On Friday night, June 2—two days before the street meet—distance events will again be contested at the adidas Boost Boston Games/Somerville. Tickets for that event, to be held at Dilboy Memorial Stadium, are $10 and include a post-race barbecue where fans can mingle with athletes to get selfies and autographs.

The adidas Boost Boston Games, produced by Boston-based Global Athletics and Marketing, Inc., is part of the 2017 USATF Championship Series.
